administration -- activism. the obama administration is encouraging this judicial activism. the obama administration is taking legal positions that threaten the role of congress as a coequal branch of our government. those positions challenge the separation of powers that is designed to protect the freedom of americans and even the right of people to govern themselves, which is the basis of representative government and the purpose of the congress. the united states happens to be a party to the vienna convention on consolate relations. this treaty gives rights to the citizens of countries who are parties to that treaty to have access to their country's consular officials if they are arrested abroad. there are some foreign nations in this country who are sentenced to death without those rights being respected. all of these death sentences appear to be valid under the american constitution. now the story is complicated, but in 2008 the supreme court ruled that failure to comply with the treaty was not an obstacle to the execution of a foreign national who had been sentenced to death. th

favorite example springs from where else? the obama administration. do you remember the henry lewis gates press conference. do you remember the lead up to that press conference? none of the networks wanted to have obama on. they gave a lot of kickback. he wanted to be on tv. we're going to lose a lot of money. his ratings had been dropping ever since he had been elected. his popularly was dropping and his ratings. he went over the heads to the corporate owners. he got them to green light the primetime program. he went to disney, ge, and cbs rather than the programs heads. all three are financial backers of the obama administration. he was named to obama's expert counsel about a year later, and he's one the head of the chief ben -- beneficiaries, ge, and he traveled to hang out with fidel castro. here's the dirty part, they accepted the order. coincidently, they bought in because obama promised to gap their liability. buried in the article was a fascinating tidbit. in order to seal the deal, they had to chip in money $150 million to pay for television advertising in favor of obamacare. the

cut taxes, unemployment continued to rise, and the obama administration which spent money and yet as republicans say we haven't seen the growth promised what would do you different? >> first, can you not focus on the leaving the banks the way they are. there's a balance sheet recession. what's happening is it's not investment in consumption. to see those go up and down. you have to see the failure of credit to get down, especially small businesses to small entrepreneurs. the longer they are recapitalizing, as you recall, after the wall street bailout, instead of buying the toxic assets, they went to right to a recapitalization program. the longer at that pace, it's going to continue to keep credit from coming down. this affects farmers, manufacturers because they are capital intensive, labor intensive. produce the product up front before they can get their accounts receive yables. that's one of the major things that has to happen. they have to be restructured. you have to quickly get recapitalization, he canities. limit the amount of leverage so they never collapse again. take the

our federal government has never defaulted on its debt. but the obama administration warns thatle happen within the next couple of months if law make ares cannot reach a deal to raise our national credit limit. while we don't know for sure what that will mean, standard & poor's warns it will result in a lower credit rating, making it harder for us to borrow money and potentially reducing confidence in our government and our economy. >> the senate is goin back to k on this tomorrow and that is significant. >> they say a deal needs to be hammered out sometime in the next two weeks or so because of procedures on capitol hill. there is great concern about when financial markets may start to react. a leading republican threw out the idea hey, if we are having trouble getting a major deal, what about a mini deal? take a list gln the big problems aren't going to go away if you cut a mini deal. all it does is delay the moment of truth and so i would say better now than then but if we can't then we'll take the savings we can get now and relitigate this as we get closer to the election. >>
